GRANT FOR TAXI DRIVERS TO BUY ELECTRIC VEHICLES
The Department of Transport has announced the renewal of the eSPSV Grant Scheme for taxis, hackneys and limousines.
The Grant Scheme is designed to assist owners of small public service vehicles (SPSVs) such as taxis in the transition to electric vehicles.
Taxi drivers can make the move to Ireland’s best-selling car brand and go fully electric with up to €20,000 in grants when you scrap your old, high mileage petrol or diesel vehicle.
Going fully electric means that you will not only reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions but also massively reduce your fuel costs.
The eSPSV25 Grant Scheme is now open for applications. €12.5 million has been allocated for grants this year via the eSPSV25 Grant Scheme, to enable owners of small public service vehicles, such as taxis, hackneys and limousines, to buy electric vehicles. The scheme is funded by the Department of Transport and administered by NTA.
